Friends and Yahoos-
After almost 7 years of being a Yahoo I’m handing in my purple badge today, it’s been an amazing journey. I’ve learned a great deal, met a lot of great people and most of all I’ve made a lot of lasting friendships. I’ll be leaving Yahoo and staying in South Korea for the next year or so trying to learn a bit more of the Korean language, traveling and finally settling down (seriously!). I’ll surely miss all the brilliant co-workers and friends I’ve meet all over the world thanks to Yahoo. Thanks to a countless number of people for setting such great examples and inspiring me to be a better person. Many thanks to the whole Y! Korea team, such a talented team and great friends, all of you have made working in Korea a wonderful experience. There’s not enough Internet to list out all of you who deserve my personal thanks, but please know I very much appreciate all of you, my friends and Y!’s.
On a not so serious note… Thanks to ttom for corrupting me and leading me down the path of self ridicule and frustration at the foosball table. Thanks to the URL’s cooking staff for staying in Sunnyvale while I was here in Korea, two years without food poisoning (woot!)! Thank you facilities for the idea of pregnant, electric vehicle and whatever else random parking spots you could think of, I could always count on you folks in a pinch! Thank you David Filo aka Robo Dork (I’ll never forgot that email) for sometimes… after a lot of begging, nagging, complaining and refusing to leave your cube until you said yes… *finally*… giving me money (for Yahoo stuff of course) and appreciating my ability to hire the best interns. Last but not least, thank you to whomever said… “free coffee for all yahoos”, I’ll never beat this addiction.
I’ll be reachable via Y! messenger and email at: [blaa blaa blaa] please drop me a line anytime. I look forward to keeping in touch with you folks. I’ve been practicing my drinking a great deal while here in Korea (it’s a national sport here you know) and look forward to getting together for beers in the very near future.
All the best,
-Steve Curry
